開催時期が約1カ月早まり、事前テストが例年の2回から1回へ変更になった鈴鹿8時間耐久レース。大会直前テストは例年1日だったが、今年は今日、明日の二日間に渡って開催される。午前9時から90分行なわれたテストセッション1は、梅雨の晴れ間が広がる中、参加全50チーム、各チーム1台のみ走行が許された。
#30 Honda HRC(Honda,BS)が2分06秒429のトップタイムを記録、2番手には#12 Yoshimura SERT Motul(Suzuki,BS)、3番手#37 BMW MOTORRAD WORLD ENDURANCE TEAM(BMW,BS)。この上位3チームは2分06秒台をマーク。11番手の#95 S-PULSE DREAM RACING SUZUKI(Suzuki,BS)まで全てブリヂストン勢が独占。90分のセッション中に赤旗が4回あったが、各チームは8時間の戦いに向けて周回を重ね、最終確認となる走行を続けた。
With the Suzuka 8 Hours moved up by about one month this year and the number of pre-event tests reduced from two to one, the final pre-race test—typically a single day—is being held over two days this year, today and tomorrow. Test Session 1 ran for 90 minutes from 9:00 a.m. under sunny breaks in the rainy season, with all 50 entered teams allowed to run only one bike each.
The #30 Honda HRC (Honda, Bridgestone) set the fastest time at 2:06.429s, followed by #12 Yoshimura SERT Motul (Suzuki, Bridgestone) in second and #37 BMW MOTORRAD WORLD ENDURANCE TEAM (BMW, Bridgestone) in third; all three posted laps in the 2:06s. Bridgestone‑equipped teams locked out the order through 11th, up to #95 S-PULSE DREAM RACING SUZUKI (Suzuki, Bridgestone). Despite four red flags during the 90‑minute session, teams continued to log laps, carrying out their final runs ahead of the eight-hour battle.
