Before the 10 and a half hour mark, the leading #37 BMW MOTORRAD WORLD ENDURANCE TEAM (BMW, BS) made its 10th pit stop, allowing the gap to #1 YART Yamaha Official EWC Team (Yamaha, BS) to close. Karel Hanika of #1 YART pushed hard, and by just after the 10 and a half hour mark, the gap between #37 BMW and #1 YART was down to about 2 seconds.
At 10 hours and 37 minutes, there was an incident where a machine caught fire at Turn 6, but the safety car was not deployed. At 10 hours and 45 minutes, #1 YART made its 11th pit stop, which allowed #12 Yoshimura to move up to second place. When #1 YART exited the pits, the gap to #12 Yoshimura was about 30 seconds, but at 10 hours and 53 minutes, #12 Yoshimura also made its 11th pit stop. As a result, #1 YART moved back into second place, with a gap of about 28 seconds when #12 Yoshimura rejoined the race. #76 AUTORACE UBE RACING TEAM (BMW, BS) also completed its 11th pit stop and held fourth position. This pit stop allowed #11 KAWASAKI WEBIKE TRICKSTAR (Kawasaki, BS) to close in on #76 AUTORACE UBE.
At the 11-hour mark, the standings were: #37 BMW leading with 394 laps, #1 YART in second place one lap behind, and #12 Yoshimura in third, about 29 seconds behind #1 YART. #76 AUTORACE UBE had completed 391 laps and was fourth, three laps behind the leader, with #11 KWT just 0.291 seconds behind in fifth. Bridgestone-equipped teams continued to occupy the top five positions.
